Ongoing development at Doneraile GAA

Friday last, 22nd May marked an important date in the history of Doneraile GAA with the official opening of a community walkway. Local TDs, John Paul O’Shea and Michael Moynihan, were in attendance to do the honours.

Chairperson of Doneraile GAA, Sinead Kirby, spoke about the background to the walkway, the importance of LEADER, Cork County Council and the local wind farm when it came to funding and the roles played by local contractors, Martin Roche, Jimmy O’Callaghan and Conor Hannon. Sinead thanked everyone concerned with bringing the amenity to completion, which would benefit the entire community, she said. MC for the occasion was club secretary, Michael Davern.

Works completed in recent years to improve the grounds, include footpaths behind the goals on the new pitch and the chain-link fencing in 2022 and 2023
