One can only empathise with the people of Kildorrery who have been told this week that Irish Water do not deem their particular problem to be 'significant enough' for any work to be done before 2017.

Here is a problem that has been ongoing for years and even though it is acknowledged in all quarters that 2.4km of asbestos pipes need to be replaced to solve the major water pressure and supply problems that the people of the area have had to endure, this is the treatment they get from Irish Water.

The removal of up to 600 new water meters that had been installed in an area of County Tipperary by the County Council last year and the recent replacement of same by the company charged with installing water meters on behalf of Irish Water, makes one question further the motive and sheer waste of money behind all of this.

While Wednesday's announcement of the revised charges may sway another few towards registering, it's little wonder why so many are up in arms at all of this!
