Fermoy’s Cllr Noel McCarthy and Mark Stanton, son of retiring TD David Stanton, have been selected to run for the Cork East constituency in the upcoming General Election.
Fine Gael party members selected the two men on Friday night in a convention at the Carrigtwohill Community Centre which was chaired by Minister Patrick O’Donovan.
Currently a sitting councillor in the Fermoy Municipal District area, Cllr Noel McCarthy said that it is a ‘great honour’ for him, his family and supporters to be put forward to the campaign.
