Results: County Junior B1 championship Abbey Rovers 1-07 0-04 Lismire

On Sunday last we travelled to Ballyclough to take on Lismire in the preliminary round of the County Junior B football championship.

Conditions were wet windy and very cold, and Lismire played with the wind advantage for the first half and we  limited them to just a single point. The sore at half time was Lismire 0-01 Abbey Rovers 0-02.

With a strong breeze at our back in the second half we got straight down to business and Mick Linehan was quick off the mark to register the first score of the second half followed by Muris that resulted with another white flag.

The decisive blow came about 10 minutes into the second half, a free just outside the 21 yard line after Wesley Walshe was fouled about 50 times; Mick Linehan stepped up for the free and with lots of dip the ball sailed in over the goal keepers head and gave us a healthy lead of 1-03 to 0-01.

The final score was Abbey Rovers 1-07 – Lismire 0-04.
