No INDIE24 for Mitchelstown

There was a double blow for Cork this week, as in Mitchelstown the organisers of INDIE announced that the popular music festival would be on a hiatus next year, while in Youghal the organisers of the IRONMAN competition announced that they too would not run an event in 2024.

INDIE has taken place in the town in one form or another since 2006 (excluding the Covid years), and is an evolution of the Mitchelstown Music Festival that originally used to be held in New Market Square. 

Announcing the break for 2024 via social media on Wednesday this week, organisers said that the decision was because they had decided to ‘take a little break to recoup and relook’.
