A roundabout is planned for the R639 on the Cork Road in Fermoy, where the relief road coming from Dun Eala meets with the busy main road fronting the Texaco service station.
Traffic interaction at this junction is creating a ‘potential conflict point’ and presenting a road safety risk, according to Cllr William O’Leary, who has asked that this be formally assessed by the council.
In a motion tabled at last Thursday’s meeting of the Fermoy Municipal District, Cllr O’Leary called on the council to carry out a road safety audit of the junction.
