A strong crowd of competitors and spectators made their way to the hills of Ballyhooly at the weekend, as competitions kicked off for the International Gallery Rifle Federation (IGRF) World Championships and National Association of Sporting Rifle and Pistols Clubs (NASRPC) Irish Open on Thursday last.
Hosted by Fermoy Rifle and Pistol Club, competitions kicked off to a sunny start, with Irish, German, Australian, English, Scottish and Welsh competitors taking to the ranges.
Speaking with The Avondhu on day 2 of the competition (Friday), chairman of Fermoy Rifle and Pistol Club, Declan Fitzgerald, said the club were glad to welcome the crowds to their grounds, where some stiff competition was ongoing.
