
Demands for a moratorium to be placed on planning applications for renewable energy developments could not be met by Cork County Council.
Discussions opened at last week’s meeting of full council, following correspondence issued to Cllr Trish Murphy, on foot of a motion in relation to solar energy developments.
Correspondence issued by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD outlined that in the Programme for Government 2025 Securing Ireland’s Future, there is a commitment to introduce planning guidelines for solar energy development.
