Today (Thursday, November 20), a cake sale and raffle will be held in the Mitchelstown Leisure Centre to help raise funds for this year's Christmas lights in the town.

The event is being organised by Carole Bradley and to facilitate people who are working during the day, it will take place between 1.30pm and 7.30pm, giving people the opportunity to support the fundraiser, both at lunch time or after work.

Carole told The Avondhu that she was to coordinate the fundraising to purchase new lights for this year, but could not, due to family commitments.

SUPPORT WELCOME

She explained that while she has some plans for next year's lights, she now understands that some funds are needed before this year's lights can be put up and she is hoping that the cake sale and raffle will be well supported. All support would be greatly appreciated.
