Planning permission has been granted to Amberley Care Home for the development of a new, purpose built 30-bed Dementia Care Unit.
The planning application, submitted to Cork County Council by Amber Health Care Limited, sought the development at the existing nursing home, which operates at present with 71 beds at Sheepwalk West, Fermoy.
According to planning documents, the new 30-bed development would consist of three 10-bed household type accommodation blocks, with communal recreation areas and new self-contained courtyards and secure sensory gardens for use by residents.
