Mighty Berkshire crossed the line at 15/2 on the third day of the Galway Races Summer Festival last Wednesday, securing a win for the Man About Dog Syndicate, which holds local connections.
The horse, trained by Declan Queally, steadily climbed the ranks throughout the race, holding up towards the rear to begin with before pressing on keeping the lead close to home in the second race of the day, the ‘Tote.ie Money-Back 2nd Every Race Handicap Hurdle’.
Speaking with The Avondhu following the win, syndicate member, Johnny O’Mahony from Watergrasshill, said it was a ‘brilliant’ day, adding that he would be in Galway for the week.
