Conna housing allocation questioned amid wastewater impasse

Plans to accommodate 30 additional homes in Conna by 2034 have been called into question after Uisce Éireann confirmed it has no plans to upgrade the village’s wastewater treatment plant. 

Developer PC Quality Homes believes the lack of capacity is effectively preventing zoned residential land in the east Cork village from being developed. 

“We’re stuck because Irish Water has no plans to do work on a plant that’s at capacity and needs changing or needs an overhaul,” a representative for the developer told The Avondhu.
