The process to select monthly winners in the Roche’s Londis, Doneraile Community Champion Awards has been a great success and the good news is these awards are set to continue in 2020.

Selecting an overall winner wasn’t easy but in the end, the adjudication panel opted for those behind the annual Mick O’Regan Memorial Motorcycle Run.

This event has raised over €144,000 for Pieta House, which is a magnificent achievement for an event in its 8th year.

Bertie O’Regan and fellow bikers were at Roche’s Londis, Doneraile last Saturday to receive the overall award plus a cheque for €500, which they will donate to Pieta House.

Speaking at the presentation, proprietor of Roche’s Londis, John Roche, said Bertie and his colleagues were deserving winners and he congratulated everyone involved in the run.

John, who was joined by his wife Majella, laid on lots of refreshments for the bikers who turned out in great numbers.

Responding, Bertie thanked John, Majella and their staff for their generosity. He also availed of the opportunity to promote the 2020 run, which will take place later this year on Saturday, August 8.
