Massive search continues for Kilworth woman

The search continues for 67-year-old Catherine Reidy from Macroney, Kilworth who was reported missing on Wednesday, 13th January.

Immediately concerned for her safety, members of An Garda Siochana, assisted by other emegency services, initiatived a search, which is ongoing. 

The alarm was raised that Wednesday afternoon, when Catherine’s Toyota Yaris was discovered unattended close to Ballyfean Bridge, near the townland of Ballyderown, between Fermoy and Kilworth.

Initial searches focused on land known locally as ‘Flynn’s Inch’, that adjoins both the Funcheon and Blackwater rivers.

Specialist search dogs were deployed, however, with light fading, nothing was found.
