Sinn Fein vice-president, Mary Lou McDonald, is to speak this Sunday at the General Liam Lynch Commemoration in Anglesboro which is organised by the Hogan/Ryan/Lynch Sinn Fein cumann.
Jim Hickey, secretary of the Hogan/Ryan/Lynch cumann, said that events such as this are important to recgonise the efforts of those such as Liam Lynch in Ireland’s independence movement.
“We feel the monument was put there and nothing ever happened. We have organised the commemoration to give people like Liam Lynch recognition,” he said.
