The recent royal wedding was only a poor second to the goings on in Castletownroche last Saturday evening.
Love was very much in the air as locals, John Batterberry and Mary Philpott tied the knot at a lavish function hosted by Mick Twohig and his staff in The Castle Arms Bar, Castletownroche.
This was an elaborate affair with every detail being tended to. Beaming bride, Mary, accompanied by her proud father (Sean Donnellan), were seen off in great style as they travelled through the village in a horse drawn carriage, provided and manned by Dave Hogan, Niamh Hogan and dapper footman, Pat Harrington.
Doing the pulling was draught mare ‘Misty’, who was washed and ‘groomed’ for the occasion.
