The Easter bank holiday weekend was a notable one for local trainer Jonathan Sweeney, who saw Showurappreciation put up a good fight in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse.
Based in Kildinan, Glengoura, Mr Sweeney said the horse ‘ran a cracker’ putting competitors through their paces in the big race of the weekend on Monday, only just losing out to 6-1 favourite, Soldier In Milan.
Owned by JP McManus and ridden by Mark Walsh, Showurappreciation ran a gallant race and handler Jonathan Sweeney said that they were happy with the outcome.
