If you’re not one for regular exercise and find the whole idea of going to the gym stressful in itself, then Shanballymore man Frank Murphy may have the right programme for you. Frank has been running courses in North Cork in the ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi which is a slow moving and a more holistic approach to working out.
Tai Chi is one of the best ways to unwind and frees any blockage of stress, so will give you more energy.
It also combats age related health problems such as arthritis, muscle tension and joint mobility because the slow moving exercises and pace of the class teaches you how to relax and dissolve stress.
It is easy to learn and has been scientifically proven to be one of the best combined mind and body programmes available today. It is becoming more and more popular with adults.
Frank, has over 30 years public teaching experience and one of the few instructors to be qualified in Ireland under the Chinese expert Dr Paul Lam, a family doctor who has pioneered Tai Chi worldwide.
He says, “People come to these classes suffering from tiredness or low levels of energy brought about by pressures of life in Ireland today. We know life is not always easy but Tai Chi works internally, like a dose of positive meditation giving a boost to your psychological well-being which will lead to improved energy and overall health”.
Ballyhooly ICA, Mallow Active Retirement, the Cope Foundation and Arthritis Ireland are some of the organisations that he has worked with recently and he starts brand new classes for complete beginners now at Rathcormac Community Centre and also at the Nano Nagle Centre, call him on 087-2704478 or visit his website at www.taichiclassescork.com.
