The Fermoy & Surrounding Areas Against Water Charges are planning to initiate a leaflet campaign in Fermoy urging the pubic to avoid paying water charges.

Pat Conroy and William Hughes told The Avondhu this week they will be issuing informative leaflets to houses around the town on why they believe a policy of abstention on water bills should be adhered to.

An estimated 10,000 people marched from the Garden of Remembrance on Parnell Square to Leinster House in Dublin last Saturday, with a number of local protestors making the journey.

At the protest William Hughes, co-organiser of the Fermoy & Surrounding Areas Against Water Charges along with Pat Conroy, waxed lyrical about the future of Irish Water.
