Ballygiblin lady ‘best manager in Munster’

Mairead O’Brien from Ballygiblin, was announced the winner of the RAI’s ‘Best Restaurant Manager for Munster’ during the week.

Mairead O'Brien from Ballygiblin, who is general manager of Nash 19 Restaurant in Cork city, was announced the winner of the RAI’s 'Best Restaurant Manager for Munster' at an award ceremony in The Strand Hotel, Limerick during the week.

The award was presented by Declan Saunders of Tindal Wine Merchants. Declan described Mairead as a person who demonstrated a great flare, natural ability and commitment for the business.

"She is committed to her role, an orchestrator, multi taster and always upbeat," he said.

Speaking after the event, Mairead who qualified in hotel and catering management at CIT Cork, said she was delighted with the win. It came as a total shock as Munster is such a big region with fantastic management teams. She thanked her employer Claire Nash, who ignited her passion for the industry and her fantastic team.

The finals take place on May 25th in the Double Tree Hilton, Dublin.
