This October, the Ballyhoura Walking Festival celebrates a remarkable 30 years of bringing people together to explore the landscapes, heritage and communities of Ballyhoura Country.
Taking place from 8th–11th October 2026, the anniversary programme will run alongside the Joyce Brothers Music Festival, creating four days of walking, music, culture, nature, food and community across the region.
The programme offers something for all ages and abilities, from a sunrise walk to Seefin and challenging marathon and half-marathon mountain walks to gentler community, nature and heritage walks. Visitors can also enjoy woodland wellness, wildlife and biodiversity experiences, photography, local food and family activities.
Music will be at the heart of the weekend too, with the Joyce Brothers Music Festival celebrating the musical and cultural legacy of PW and Robert Dwyer Joyce through concerts, workshops, traditional music sessions and a special historical walk to the Joyce homestead at Glenosheen.
With events taking place across Ballyhoura Country, the weekend is an invitation to walk, explore, connect and celebrate 30 years of community-led adventure.
