Almost 100 residents in Kilworth have signed a petition requesting that Irish Water do not move them onto a new water supply in the area, over concerns of the hardness of the Downing Bridge water supply.
Cllr Deirdre O’Brien brought a motion to the Northern Committee meeting of Cork County Council this week on behalf of residents on the Macroney-Castlecooke line, who face being moved to the alternative supply.
Ms O’Brien said the residents have numerous concerns about the proposed switch, in particular the hardness of the water from the Downing Bridge supply.
