Taking place at the Osprey Hotel in Naas on Thursday, January 15th, Agri Aware have announced its inaugural industry focused ‘Food for Thought Industry Briefing’. Key topics to be discussed on the day include the Mercosur Trade Deal, the Nitrates Derogation and the Common Agricultural Policy, all of which have, and continue to be prominent in the media.

Those in attendance will hear from experts including keynote speaker Tadhg Buckley of the Irish Farmers Association, Ksenija Simovic of COPA-COGEGA, Kevin Maher of Dairy Sustainability Ireland and Phelim O’Neill of the Irish Farmers Journal.

Agri Aware, the agri-food educational body, is a charitable trust whose mission is to enhance agricultural literacy amongst the general public.

‘EXCITING’ OPPORTUNITY

Speaking ahead of the event, Agri Aware Executive Director Marcus O’Halloran said the gathering will provide a ‘networking opportunity’ for those in the sector.

“Next week’s industry event is an exciting and important opportunity to bring industry together to hear the latest insights on the policies, trade shifts and environmental priorities shaping the Irish agri-food sector today,” he said.

“Not only is it an opportunity to become more aware of the challenges facing the sector, but it also provides a networking opportunity for industry, something that Agri Aware has been keen to provide.

“We are starting 2026 as a means to go on, with this event not only bringing industry together but also strengthening the sector’s standing in the eyes of consumers as we continue our mission of enhancing agricultural literacy,” he concluded.
