
Doneraile GAA and the wider community came together on St Stephen’s Day to see the Dads and Lads and Junior teams face off in a fundraiser in aid of Barry Daly’s family.
In a poignant moment, it was Jayden, Barry’s son, who fittingly was the very first person to lift the Barry Daly Perpetual Memorial Trophy, claiming the win in his Dad’s honour for the double-winning Junior team.
Speaking with The Avondhu, Brian O’Rourke of Doneraile GAA, explained that the fundraiser came about on the back of a suggestion from two locals.
