Irish Water is to write to 4,200 homes and businesses served by 10 public water supply schemes in County Cork, including residents from Ballyhooly, where the drinking water quality is 'not as good as it could be'.
Water remains safe to drink in each of these schemes but Irish Water will outline, in this direct correspondence, what they are doing to improve the supply by either providing an alternative source or upgrading the relevant water treatment plant.
In Ballyhooly, potential issues have been identified in relation to cryptosporidium.
