Ireland vs Saudi Arabia Davis Cup World Group II Playoffs – January 31st and February 1st, 2025
Ireland is set to face Saudi Arabia in the World Group II Playoffs on 31st January and 1st February in Riyadh, aiming to reclaim their spot in World Group II for September 2025.
Joining Michael Agwi in the Irish line-up is a seasoned team featuring Osgar O’hOisin, Ammar Elamin, Freddy Murray, and David O’Hare.
Unfortunately, Conor Gannon, after a promising 2024 season, is unavailable due to commitments to his final college season at Memphis University.
Captain Conor Niland commented: “As a team we are excited to get a chance to compete against Saudi Arabia in Riyadh next week. We are looking to build on some fantastic competitive experiences from last year into this 2025 campaign. Saudi Arabia gained promotion from theirRegional Group 3 last year and will be difficult opponents to face on their home courts but we are looking forward to the challenge.”
Tennis Ireland Performance Director Cian Blake said: “The team are looking forward to the upcoming challenge in Riyadh. 2024 saw a lot of good performances from the team and I know that they are eager to build on that in 2025. I’d like to wish Conor and the team the very best of luck in this important tie.”
