A former local councillor and town mayor has criticised the IDA for not delivering on the business investment at the IDA Site on the Dublin Road in Fermoy that was promised to the town council more than 20 years ago. 

The IDA site is totally idle at present despite being a fully serviced site ready for development. 

“When the army left Fermoy on September 28, 1998 we were promised that there would be businesses developed there. That’s over twenty years ago and it’s only like a wildlife park up there,” said John Murphy.
