Those behind last year's very successful fashion show in Araglin are back again with an event that promises to be even bigger and better.
The organising committee of Mary Leddy, Siobhain Browne, Helen Leddy, Ena O'Sullivan and Fiona Kenneally, have been meeting reguarly to fine tune a show that will feature the very latest in women's and men's fashions. Some of the region's top stores have signed up to take part in an event that hopefully will raise a very substantial amount of money for Breast Cancer Ireland. The fashion show takes place in Araglin Community Hall on Friday, 14th March.
Like almost every village and town in Ireland, Araglin has been affected by cancer and it was a massive blow to the community when Mary Reidy-Kenneally was taken in the prime of her life. Both the Reidy and Kenneally families have given their strong backing to the fashion show, which will remember Mary and all those who've had to battle breast cancer. It's particularly apt that the late Mary is associated with the show as she loved clothes, fashion and special occasions.
Plans are advancing fast, the posters are up and the tickets already printed. The push is now on to make the show a success and judging by the response to date, it could very well be a complete sell out. Tickets are €15 and include a pre-show wine reception - there's a student concession of €7 in operation to facilitate the younger generation.
There will be awards for 'best dressed', lots of raffle prizes and some after-show entertainment. Fermoy businesses associated with the show include: Hickeys (ladies and gents), Vanilla, Carma, Style Lounge Shoes (Fermoy and Mitchelstown) and Boardwalk Shoes. Mitchelstown is being represented by The Doll's House, Wardrobe, Off The Rails, Diva Accessories and Mr. Mister. Kilworth based Ger Hennessy, who specialises in hats and facinators, is also committed to attending.
It promises to be a really memorable night in Araglin - bookings and fashion show enquires to Ena on 058-50947.
