The HSE are being called upon to outline the long-term future plans and commitment of the SouthDoc Service in Fermoy following rumours that circulated recently regarding the possible closure of the facility.
Last month, concerns were raised locally as alleged staff shortages were highlighted and sources stated that the existing SouthDoc operations were to be merged, consolidating the services in either Midleton or Glanmire.
When queried at the time, a Cork Kerry Community Healthcare spokesperson said: “We are not aware of any plans to reduce the level of service provision provided by SouthDoc to people it supports in Fermoy”.
