Site purchase, regarding the planned housing development at the old mart site in Mitchelstown, is due to be complete this month. It was also revealed this week that delivery on the 48 properties on-site are expected in 2027.
An update on the development was issued at Monday’s meeting of the Northern Divisional Committee to Cllr Deirdre O’Brien on foot of a motion tabled by the councillor. Saying that she wanted to ensure the proposed development would go ahead, she sought from the council an up to date report regarding the project.
“I just wanted to ensure there were houses being built because it seemed like there was a bit of a stoppage,” she said.
