Historic occasion in Ballysaggart

Ballysaggart’s new community centre was officially opened last Saturday. Government representatives and local politicians joined community activists for a ceremony that has seen this former national school transformed into a multi purpose facility.

Speaking to The Avondhu, chairman of Ballysaggart Community Development, Michael J. Walsh, said it was a ‘proud, historic and highly significant day for the people of Ballysaggart’. 

“This is the result of massive community involvement, with tremendous assistance from Waterford LEADER Partnership and other agencies. The complete refurbishment of the old national school in Ballysaggart represents tremendous progress for the village and its hinterland,” he said.
