Sunday last brought huge crowds to Kilbehenny Community Centre, as friends, neighbours and relatives came together to recognise the efforts of eight-year-old Aoibhe Mullins, while raising money for Drive to Survive.

Aoibhe recently donated half of her hair to the Rapunzel Foundation, who make wigs for sick children and on Sunday, a fun day was held to acknowledge that big sacrifice and also to raise money for the Drive to Survive campaign.

Looking and feeling like a princess, Aoibhe made her grand entrance into the fun day like royalty, as John McMahon brought her from her home in Boher to the community centre in a horse drawn carriage, where she was warmly welcomed by friends and family members.

Over the course of the day, there were queues for the horse and carriage, face painting, the magician and bouncy castle, while hurling fans also waited patiently to meet their heroes, Paudie O'Brien and Gavin O'Mahony.

The founder of the Drive to Survive campaign, Dan Gallahue was overwhelmed by the amount of people who attended the event.

Speaking on the day, Aoibhe's mum Biddy said that she was immensely proud of her daughter and what she had done and she thanked everyone who made the day a success.

Biddy extended her heartfelt thanks to John McMahon for providing the horse and carriage, Mr Magic, Pa Joe for the bouncy castle, all those who gave spot prizes and supported the day, Limerick hurlers Paudie O'Brien and Gavin O'Mahony, face painters, the ladies who prepared refreshments and anyone who helped in any way.

The Voice of Ireland, Keith Hanley who was due to attend was unable to attend, but sent Aoibhe his best wishes.
