U8 & U10 LEAGUE FINALS DAY

A great days play was had by all teams last Sunday in Lismore for the John Giles Walk of Dreams and the Academy finals day held at Blackwater Community School, Lismore by kind permission. This is the third year of the walk and it was well supported by the Clubs last Sunday despite the cold and wet weather.

Thankfully, the walk route was dry and the U8 players got the best of the conditions as there matches were played in the dry, the U10’s were the unlucky ones as the weather turned and there games were played in a constant drizzle, despite this the players showed off there skills and enjoyed the occasion cheered on by friends and family which was a joy to see.

It must be said John Giles was a true gent standing for photos all day and never denied anyone a smile or a chat, a true legend of the beautiful game. All in all a great day had by all and well done to all concerned.

U12 Cup semi-final: Kilworth 1 Castlebridge 3. U11 Cup semi-final: Clashmore 0 Castlebridge 3. U16 Cup semi-finals: Ballybridge 4 Castlebridge 1; Ballymac 4 Brideview 2.

Thursday, 11th April: U12 Cup semi-final – Clashmore v Lismore 6.30pm, K Griffin. Saturday, 13th April: U16 Cup final at Cappoquin – Ballybridge v Ballymac, D Fogarty, K Griffin and A Kelly. U11 Cup final at Cappoquin: Lismore v Castlebridge, K Griffin.

Following week – U14 Cup final: Ballymac v Castlebridge. U12 Cup final: Castlebridge v Clashmore or Lismore.
