
Moore’s Hotel in Cappoquin, a recently opened regenerated building, is expected to be home to Ave Maria University from Florida, who are preparing to reopen Mount Melleray Abbey this September as a ‘study abroad’ campus.
The former hotel in Cappoquin was one of a series of former vacant and derelict buildings located in the town centre that were brought back to life supported with a €7.2 million allocation under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund.
Buildings regenerated through the fund are to be used for residential accommodation and commercial space.
