Glenroe artist Tommie McDonnell will be holding the very first exhibition of his work in Mitchelstown, with the launch due to take place at 5pm on this Thursday, 7th December, in The Town Coffee Company premises on Lower Cork Street.

A keen hiker and wilderness photographer, Tommie has been honing his craft over the past few years with a focus on the local Galtee mountains, areas of spectacular natural beauty in Kerry and the Scottish highlands, as well as a celebration of wildlife found in remote areas. Tommie has built a significant following and is renowned for his talents in discovering new hidden gems in the mountains and capturing their magic and in encouraging others to enjoy the nature that’s around them.

This is Tommie’s first exhibition and he was absolutely delighted when The Town Coffee Company approached him to create a show for their customers and community, to celebrate the beauty of the nearby Galtee Mountains. The exhibition will continue at Gallery @ No.2 (in The Town Coffee Company building) until Christmas and Tommie’s prints are available for sale at The Town Coffee Company, in both mounted print and framed format.

THE TOWN COFFEE COMPANY

The Town Coffee Company was opened by Mikey and Bernadette Shinnick in 2020 and in recognition of the high level of local support the company has enjoyed since opening, the Shinnicks now want to support other like-minded producers and makers in the area, to also help them grow their business and in the process, showcase the vibrant local community.

All are welcome to the launch of the exhibition at The Town Coffee Company, 2 Lower Cork Street, Mitchelstown on Thursday 7th December from 5-7pm.
