Glanworth Community Hall stands centre stage of the village, but in recent times, has fallen in to serious disrepair. While general repairs are needed throughout the hall, the main issue appears to be the roof which is in a bad state.

According to Helena Kennerley, chairperson of the local community council, recent funding from the Covid-19 Community Emergency Grant of €1,500 will go towards general running expenses, such as bills and insurance, but the roof is a different matter and one that needs urgent attention. 

“The roof is falling in on us, it needs to be redone. A builder came out to look at it and he wouldn’t even go up there because it was too dangerous,” Helena informed The Avondhu.
