One of Skeheenarinky National School’s social and sporting highlights took place last Sunday, with the hosting of a very well supported fundraising gala day.
Everyone who has children in the school really got behind the gala day draw, which proved a great success. First prize was a very attractive €350 in cash, with the winner being one of the school’s second class pupils, Ben Roche – Ben was very close at hand when his name was announced and his celebrations were those of a player who scored the winning goal in the Champions’ League final.
Ben passed on the money to his parents, Mary and Ger for safe keeping – with the Roches scheduled to take a family holiday shortly, the win came at a perfect time.
