
Menacing weather necessitated a change of venue for last Sunday’s Burncourt Gala Day – the original venue being the outdoor setting of the scouts’ field, the Tipperary base for members of the 4th Cork Scout Group.
And so, Plan B was set in motion with activities transferring to the familiar surrounds of Burncourt Community Centre. This regularly used facility did the job just fine, thanks to a substantial indoor/outdoor extension that really came into its own last Sunday.
In keeping with gala days of the past, a lot of emphasis was on children’s entertainment and a variety of games and pursuits, many of them unique to Burncourt, were laid on for the benefit of juniors.
