The shared history linking Mitchelstown and Peterborough, Ontario, has been given renewed recognition through the publication of a commemorative book coinciding with the arrival of a specially crafted plaque to Canada.
Nine Ships 1825, the Peterborough-based group formed to mark the bicentenary of the Peter Robinson-assisted emigration scheme, launched their second publication, ‘Bicentennial Reflections’, on August 10th. The book was released on the first anniversary of the completion of the group’s formal programme of bicentenary events in Canada.
The full-colour publication shines a light on the emigration experiment and the commemorations held throughout 2025.
