
While not opposed to safety enhancement works at the normally very busy Mountain Barracks junction (between Mitchelstown and Araglin), residents of the area this week expressed anger and frustration at the ‘painfully slow’ pace of progress.
According to locals, contractors started work at the site on Tuesday, 21st October and they’re seeing very little progress being made.
“We have no objection to anything that enhances safety, however, those overseeing the project must appreciate that closing the Kilworth side of the junction is causing serious inconvenience to a lot of people,” they said.
