Fr Richard Kelly, the former parish priest of Kilbehenny and Anglesboro, was feted recently as he retired from the position of parish priest of the district, to take up the position of Associate Pastor to Fr Joe Tynan, who will take over the administrative duties of the parish.
At Christmas Eve Masses in both St Joseph’s Church, Kilbehenny and St Patrick’s Church, Anglesboro, Fr Kelly was presented with two very different pieces of artwork to mark his time serving the community.
In Kilbehenny, chair of the Community Centre, John Kearney presented Fr Kelly with an iconic picture of the priest celebrating an outdoor Mass at an ancient burial site at Stanton’s Field, which was taken by Moss Fitzgerald.
