A young trainer from Tallow has seen her first racecourse success with a win on Tuesday at Limerick.

Sarah O’Connell, of Peria Stud, Tallow, saw her first ever victory as Promontory, an eight year old gelding, took first place at Limerick racecourse.

Promontory made his debut at Naas in February, coming in fourth, but this time round he came up trumps. Sarah is naturally delighted with the result.

“It’s brilliant, and I’ve been very grateful for the opportunity to train him. The jockey, Aidan Kelly has been excellent, very helpful, he’s ridden most of my horses,” she told The Avondhu.
