First time that all four coaches have a team in the final

Fifteen families started out in the battle to be crowned Ireland’s Fittest Family 2019, now only four remain. This Sunday, they will go head-to-head in the home of Irish sport, Croke Park, to see who has what it takes to emerge triumphant.

With the 2018 series being the most successful series to date, Ireland’s Fittest Family set out across the country to find the fittest, fastest and strongest families in what is Ireland’s most extreme fitness competition.

The popular show, now in its seventh season, returned on Sunday 27th October on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, and is sponsored by Londis.

This Sunday, for the first time in the history of Ireland’s Fittest Family, all four coaches have a family in the final.

It’s Anna Geary’s Maher’s from Laois, Davy Fitzgerald’s Hogan’s from Wexford, Derval O’Rourke’s Dinan’s from Cork and Donncha O’Callaghan’s McSharry’s from Sligo.

With Davy and The Hogan’s, it’s his second shot at a title in Croke Park this year! For the McSharry family, it has been an exciting couple of weeks, with Mona McSharry taking bronze in the 50m breaststroke at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Glasgow earlier this month.

The finalists will take part in some of the series’ most impressive challenges to date, as all their hard work comes down to this day, filmed during truly appalling weather conditions.

Watch Ireland’s Fittest Family on RTÉ One on this Sunday, December 15 at 6.30pm.
