New cycles lanes have been proposed for Fermoy with works to be carried out to the tune of €85,000 under funding provided through the National Transport Authority.

The new cycle lanes, to be located on the R639 in Fermoy, are to go before public consultation from Thursday, June 16 until July 16, with plans available through the Cork County Council website.

An initial report on the project was brought before members attending the Fermoy Municipal District meeting this week.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Engineer Brendan O’Gorman told the council that they were ‘shovel ready’.
