Immediate discussion and remedial works for Kenny’s Cross in Castlelyons are being sought by members of the Castlelyons community.

While safety issues at Kenny’s Cross are understood to be an ongoing issue for some time, the community has seen a renewed call to action following an accident in the last week, which resulted in a local man being hospitalised following the incident. Thankfully, we understand he is making a good recovery.

Speaking with The Avondhu, James Ronayne of Castlelyons Community Council said that locals are seeking a ‘permanent solution’ for Kenny’s Cross.

“Two people have lost their lives at Kenny’s Cross and one at Glenarouske/Mohera junction, it is now time that the matter is addressed permanently,” he said.
