Initial discussions have been held with organisations in relation to the funding of the construction of Fermoy weir remediation and fish bypass, Cork County Council has confirmed.
News of this comes amid concerns raised on multiple occasions by members of the public regarding the cost of the project and how it may be funded.
Cork County Council have this week confirmed that the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government has provided partial funding for the planning and detailed design for the project, however, funding for the construction stage has yet to be secured.
