There’s a growing sense of excitement and anticipation in advance of next Sunday’s Fermoy Rowing Club’s regatta. For decades, a regular fixture on the sporting calendar, the regatta, like so many other events, fell victim to Covid related restrictions.
Speaking to The Avondhu this week, regatta secretary, Paul Kavanagh, said it was great to be back as he and his colleagues finalised preparations for next weekend’s competition.
“Traditionally, our regatta was an annual highpoint for the club and everyone is agreed that’s it’s great to see the return of such a prestigious event; we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure the day is a success,” he said.
