After years of near misses, Fermoy U15s delivered the goods when it mattered in a nail-biting win over Eire Og to take the Rebel Og Premier 2 county hurling league title.
It is the first piece of major silverware for one of the hardest-working bunches of youngsters within the Fermoy Juvenile GAA ranks – and a richly deserved reward after a roller-coaster season.
This bunch of lads never make it easy on the nerves and victory only came after a dramatic second half in Ovens, amid wet and windy conditions last Saturday.
