An online fundraiser has been set up in aid of Mitchelstown native, Philip Lee, who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident while on holiday.
Philip, who lives in Sligo, hails from Clonmel Road in Mitchelstown and is a son of well-known local man, Joe Lee. Back in the day, Philip was named ‘King of the Galtees’ and was involved in Scouts and karate while living locally.
His family have now set up a GoFundMe page after he was seriously injured after being hit by a car while on a short break in Alicante, Spain.
It is understood that Philip was out walking on a footpath at around 8am on Tuesday, April 29 when he was hit by a car that sped away and left him unconscious on the side of a back road.
