St Colman’s College in Fermoy is to undergo a new €12 million refurbishment and redevelopment project for the school to allow for expansion and extra student accommodation.

The Board of Management and school management are ‘delighted’ to announce news of the project following discussions and meetings with the building unit in the Department of Education who recently confirmed funding for the project.

The new project is to see a two-phased development to the school with phase one seeing priority being given to the immediate replacement of the roof to the 1858 boarding school building and the construction of a new multi-purpose PE hall and gym.

“We have a wonderful staff and students who are so proud of their school and we are delighted that this project and investment from the Department will provide them with state of the art facilities,” said principal Veronica O’Donoghue.
